We have an exciting opportunity for a HR Advisor to join our team in Hertford. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, you will play a pivotal role in a small team, with opportunity to develop further. We are seeking a full generalist who has experience of the employee lifecycle and will enjoy the challenge of introducing new working practices to help support, grow and shape the future of the business. The role will cover both Head Office and Warehouse/Production based employees.

Responsibilities

  •      Recruitment with a focus on high volume temporary recruitment. Managing activity across the business including advertising, resourcing, interviewing and selection
  •      Creating, updating and delivering induction presentations alongside taking responsibility for the onboarding of new starters, ensuring compliance and an engaging experience for employees
  •      Revising Policies and Procedures including Statutory updates. Building relationships with the Management team to smoothly introduce changes across all departments
  •      Supporting managers on various employee relations matters to include disciplinary and grievance, flexible working requests, absence management, performance management and family-friendly policies ensuring consistency and fairness
  •      Project work such as appraisals, employee engagement, learning and development, apprenticeships and wellbeing initiatives
  •      Assisting the team with preparing payroll input, creating new starter profiles, timesheets and shift worker schedules

Person specification

  • Previous experience in Human Resources or a related field
  • CIPD Level 5 or working towards this, or a Degree in Human Resources or equivalent
  • Excellent planning, organisation and administration skills, able to prioritise and manage multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities
  • Evidence of experience in high volume recruitment and on-boarding
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail including dealing with confidential information
  • Resourceful and self-motivated with the ability to solve problems confidently and independently along with an enthusiasm to develop further
  • Team focused with a desire to work collaboratively to achieve shared goals
  • Strong IT Literacy including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • As the role covers both Head Office and Warehouse/Production based employees, experience of working in a factory environment would be an advantage
